Super easy and fun project for a gift or quick decoration for your wall. This was my first Skillshare class ever…if you want to see the whole class follow this link for 3 months for only 99 cents for classes on everything! I’m totally hooked! (If you are already a Skillshare please click and enroll in my class for free.)

This was for my Harry Potter crazed daughter.
For my banners, I simply measured a rectangle of about 15″ by 13″. I have muslin on a roll in my closet that I keep meaning to use for a dress pattern that has been taunting me for six months now…arg… You could really use any fabric you have on hand. If you are going to want to paint it, I would go with a heavy piece like canvas. I like to cut up paint clothes. I get them from Lowes for about $10 and you can’t buy that size fabric at the fabric store for that! (great for bags to paint on also)
If you want the point, simply fold in half and cut the corner off. For the seams, I used glue for the no-sew for the class. I sew the hems for the ones I sell at craft shows. It’s just about 1/4″ around before you fold the top down about 1″ and secure. This leaves the opening for your dowel.
I explain a number of ideas for putting your design onto your banner in the class, but you can see that you can use about anything. In these examples, I’ve used a Sharpie, felt with web, and fabric markers. Use your imagination!

Love my Mini Aussies!!
I hope you have fun with this. Please check out my class. I would love to hear what you think of it. It’s my first, so please be kind. Let me know (nicely) what I can do for my next class to make it better. I do know that I’m going to use more video next time. I had to talk my son into filming me for the cutting part. That means I took him away from his game…arg…

really..the dog gets a banner and I don’t?
As a teacher and affiliate, I do get a referral bonus if you sign up for the introductory membership for 99 cents..but it’s a great deal for everyone:) Let me know if you are interested in teaching yourself…it’s awesome. (and yes, there is a bonus)
